Hilton said: “The six shortlisted publications display a breathtaking range of topics and styles, increase our understanding and challenge our point of views. Every one shows phenomenal scholarship and compelling story and supplies extensive understanding into several of the most important problems of our time.
The shortlist was announced on Thursday night (10th October) by 2024 reward court, Peter Hoskin, at an event at Cheltenham Literature Event. The reward identifies and awards the very best of non-fiction and is open to authors of any type of nationality.
The shortlist of 6 books was picked by China Dialogue founder Isabel Hilton, that served as chair; writer and investigative reporter Heather Brooke; comment and society editor for New Researcher Alison Flood; society editor of Possibility Peter Hoskin; together with authors Tomiwa Owolade and Chitra Ramaswamy. Their selection was made from 349 publications released between 1st November 2023 and 31st October 2024.
