    Bollinger Everyman Wodehouse Prize: 25th Anniversary Shortlist

    The Bollinger Everyman Wodehouse Prize celebrates its 25th anniversary with a shortlist including Younis, Sammartino, Jenkin, Greathead, Mahloudji and Ayoade. The winner receives Bollinger champagne, Wodehouse collection and a pig!

    In the year the award commemorates its 25th anniversary, the shortlist includes Essentially by Nussaibah Younis (Weidenfeld & Nicolson), Last Acts by Alexander Sammartino (One) and Murder Many Foul by Man Jenkin (Tale Press).

    Bollinger’s Perspective

    Victoria Carfantan, director of Sparkling wine Bollinger, Team Bollinger UK & Global Collaborations, included: “This prize is the joyous location where Bollinger champagne and comic fiction fulfill to confirm beyond doubt PG Wodehouse’s completely observed maxim: ‘The only genuine and abiding enjoyment in life is to give pleasure to other individuals.’ All 8 publications are an absolute delight– the judges are going to have a difficult time picking.”

    The award is the UK’s longest-running prize for comic fiction and previous winners have consisted of Terry Pratchett, Helen Fielding and Bob Mortimer. Last year’s victor was Ferdia Lennon for his debut unique Wonderful Ventures (Penguin).

    Past Winners and 2024 Shortlist

    Kate Greathead’s Guide of George (Atlantic Books) is additionally featured on this year’s shortlist, along with Sanam Mahloudji’s The Persians (4th Estate Books), and The Incomplete Harauld Hughes by Richard Ayoade (Faber).

    The Grand Prize

    The winner will certainly be granted with a jeroboam and a case of Bollinger Unique Cuvée, the complete collection of the Everyman’s Collection PG Wodehouse collection, and a pig named after the winning book. Each of the shortlisted writers will obtain a magnum of Bollinger Special Cuvée and a copy of The Code of the Woosters by PG Wodehouse (Everyman’s Collection).
