The EU Parliament voted to exempt books from Deforestation Rules (EUDR), averting a disastrous impact on publishers and Irish booksellers. This ensures continued access to books and knowledge in the EU.
Group rights director Tracy Phillips explained: “In response to declining literacy rates across the world, our customers have been asking us for lower word counts and more highly illustrated books, often in full colour.”
Jess Allan, store manager of Queens Park Books in north west London, said: "We have historically done more events with schools and just in general and that has certainly changed post lockdown.
