Women’s Prize 2025 judging panels announced

The champion, shortlist and longlist will be assisted by the “3 tenets of excellence, originality and ease of access”. Each victor will certainly obtain ₤ 30,000 and a limited-edition artwork: the “Bessie” for the Fiction Prize– shaped by the late Grizel Niven– and the “Charlotte” for the Non-Fiction Reward– shaped by Ann Christopher RA FRSS, and gifted by the Charlotte Aitken Trust Fund.

Package de Waal, chair of the 2025 Women’s Prize for Fiction judging panel, claimed: “What an honour to be the chair of the 2025 Women’s Reward for Fiction. Not just do I get to check out the most brilliant books by ladies around and hear what they have to state concerning our globe, however I’m judging with such fascinating other judges, with everybody looking for the same point: books that notify and motivate throughout the genres, publications that make us laugh and weep, publications that take opportunities without apology, and most of all, publications that stay with us long after the last page reads.”

The 2025 Female’s Reward for Fiction judging panel has been announced, along with the 2025 Women’s Reward for Non-Fiction. The Fiction reward commemorates its 30th anniversary in 2025, whilst the Non-fiction reward enters its 2nd year. The Fiction Prize evaluating panel is made up of chair, author Kit de Waal, alongside novelist, reporter and inaugural victor of the Orange Honor for New Writers (the Women’s Reward for launching authors in 2006), Diana Evans; journalist, mental-health and author advocate, Bryony Gordon; publication editor, most lately editor-in-chief of Prestige UK, Deborah Joseph; and artist and author understood for award-winning movie scores, Amelia Warner.

Kavita Puri, chair of the 2025 Women’s Reward for Non-Fiction evaluating panel, said: “It’s an enormous privilege to chair the second year of the Women’s Prize for Non-Fiction, to commemorate exceptional female writers that are developing initial job, throughout a broad series of styles, from history to science and nature, and past. Along with my fellow judges, I eagerly anticipate seeing how they are reacting– in their own areas– to some of the biggest inquiries of our time, and elevating their remarkable voices.”

Chair of the Women’s Reward for Non-Fiction Juries, broadcaster, writer and journalist Kavita Puri is signed up with by the writer and broadcaster, Dr Leah Broad, whose work focuses on females’s cultural history; storyteller and movie critic, Elizabeth Buchan; author and environmental academic Dr Elizabeth-Jane Burnett; and writer and author of The Hyphen e-newsletter on Substack, Emma Gannon.
